About two-thirds of South Carolina is forested. Greenwood, located in the Upstate of South Carolina, is home to the forested hills of the Piedmont region and the mountains, commonly referred to as the ‘wood basket’ of the state. The wood waste from the state’s forests, lumber mills, and wood products industry yields significant amounts of biomass. Methane from landfills in more densely populated areas provides South Carolina with additional biomass resources.
Enviva: The Greenwood plant, which is Enviva’s seventh wood pellet facility, is expected to reach its full production capacity of approximately 600,000 metric tons of pellets per year in 2019, subject to receiving the necessary permits. Pellets produced at the Greenwood plant are transported by truck to Enviva’s Port of Wilmington terminal, primarily for export to European customers.

We utilize a state of the art sawmill and drying facility, producing high-quality grade lumber, timbers, and other proprietary and custom products. Our primary species are Red Oak, White Oak, and Poplar, all of which can be exported as logs or kiln dried lumber.
